Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from a diverse ethnic background. Jacqueline's father Elroy Fernandez hails of Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is Malaysian. Jacqueline is the youngest of two sisters and a brother who is older. Because of the turmoil in Sri Lanka, her family relocated to Bahrain during the 1980s. In Australia she pursued a degree in Media and Communications at University of Sydney after completing her studies in Bahrain. As a lover of culture and different languages, she enrolled in Berlitz Language School where she studied Spanish and improved her French as well as Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 competed in the Miss Universe 2006 and Miss Universe 2006 as well as Miss Universe 2006 when she took home the title in 2006. After winning Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006, she took on the world of television and anchored a show that was a business show in Sri Lanka named Lanka Business Report. Padukone's father was a badminton player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has been raised both in Copenhagen and Bangalore. She played badminton at the national championships while a teenager but gave her sports career up to pursue a career as a model. Padukone's mother tongue is Konkani. She is Mangalorean by origin. Padukone is located in the Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend who retired in the late 1980s. The mother of her daughter, a travel agent, is also from the village.
